Happy Couple in their Chairs, Pair of Old Painted Carvings korean I love that this little

I love that this little old bull was really made with "no bull" - just a silhouette cut out from a piece of wood

I'd just put these in a beautiful bowl to admire and pick up now and then

it does feel very much aligned

My photos aren't great but It should be noted that the graphite on these drawings is a bit faint and so they very much reward close looking

The ring could be removed from the backside by snipping the black thread that holds it

Obviously they were carved by the same person but it appears of two different woods, and decorated with what seems to have been a water based paint, a fair bit of it lost or faded but lots of good color remaining, Great faces, great attituses, and I how the area underneath her chair was outlined but never carved out. Total charmers. Both measure about 4 1 4" t x 7 8" w x 2 1
